pocketses

I love wrapping with a pocket. Brit and Co gives you the instructions on how to do it with fabric/a tea towel.

Pretty double gift.
I like these pretty, hand-screened, organic cotton towels from LittleCityDesigns on Etsy as a great option to use as a tea towel/gift wrap.

LittleCity Designs does apparel, floursack tea towels and other prints.  Here is what they say about themselves:

"Little City Designs is a little company in the little city of Ventura. We are artists who design and hand print clothing and create custom works of art for print and screen media for businesses and individuals.

We are a husband and wife team who are sometimes lucky enough to work with good friends too. Newlyweds and new to business, we have been designing and creating art for years and have just begun to take on our own silk screen and letterpress printing.

For both of us art and design are a passion. With each piece we try to create something that's better than anything we've ever made before and we are always seeking new materials and new inspiration."

Two for tea (two uses for tea towels)

Tea Towel Wrapping is one of the ultimate eco-friendly wrapping ideas. Green thumbs up for re-use of the wrapping and cotton instead of trees. For those of us who think about that, here are some ideas about how to do it:

The simple approach.

I highly recommend following the above link to the post by Brit and Co on about ten different ways to wrap using a tea towel. I mean, they even get you to MAKE the tea towel. Whew. I bow before them.

Etsy Monday Talk to the Sun

These fabulous stamps caught my eye, from an Etsy shop in Japan called TalktotheSun.

imagine this on some kraft paper
The shop owner, Riyo, says this about her work:

"My life time goal is to live simple but enjoy adventure and learn something for life. It's not bad to have simple and slow life.  All handmade items are designed and handmade by me.  Most rubber stamps are made to order."
Her designs are indeed simple, in a way that would translate well to stamping gift wrap.

I love this to and from stamp. I need something like this when I don't have time for a tag.
She has stationary and textiles as well.  I like the idea of wrapping kitchen gifts or other small gifts in these hand-stamped towels.  The designs are simple but charming and the price is reasonable.

Use tea towels for wrapping kitchen and kid gifts.
